Recycled and Altered

WOW! I can't believe today is the LAST challenge for the
This has been a very exciting month and a very challenging one too.
I have been so very honored to be one of the contestants
for the Princess of Halloween challenge for Simply Betty Stamps.
I have really challenged myself to learn something new, try different things,
and step out of my comfort zone.
I wouldn't have changed this experience for anything.

With that being said, this final challenge is to create and altered project.
The only limit is just no altered journals, or cards, please.

So for my last challenge this month, I decided I needed a new
pencil/pen/marker holder for my desk.

I thought I would do something kind of fun so I made a
 little scene around my holder.

First I started with a plain coaster holder that I picked up at a Thrift Shop.

Next I decided to use some Arsenic and Lace paper.

This is the side where the opening for the coasters were.
I used a cutout from K&Co.

I used Chris the Science Guy for this side.
I added some Glossy Accents to the glass beaker.
I also added a spider web, a Tim Holtz skull & bones,
and of course some bling.

I used some green DCWV glitter paper and cut out my "Boom!"
with a cricut machine.  I really like this font.

For my last scene, the "Explosion" scene, I used
Simply Betty Stamps Mad Scientist.

I added the skeleton from the Simply Betty Stamps
Chris the Science Guy stamp.
I layed my skeleton down and glued him down like he had been dropped
after the explosion.
I added some Glossy Accents to the beakers, test tubes, and glasses.

I am loving this new marker holder!!

There are great prizes to be won, and lots of fun to be had!

Hoooooowling at the Moon!

is almost over.  But it isn't over yet.
Today we have another fun challenge over at Simply Betty Stamps Challenges.

This one really made me think.
It really tested me.
The challenge is to make it fuzzy.
Use feathers, fur, or anything to make your project fuzzy.

Well the first thing that I decided on was that I wanted to use
the cute little Simply Betty Arial Werewolf stamp.

The next problem was what to do with it.
I came across a plain black lantern that was just screaming for a makeover.
I figured that was just perfect!

I added some pretty fuzzy leaves and some pretty Autumn flowers.
I also added a pretty little rustic bow.

And what is a cute girl in a costume without a candy bag.
So of course, I had to add a candy bag with chocolate and other goodies.

I used and ink pad and markers to color some white flocking brown
to make my Werewolf hat a little hairy.

I added some Glossy Accents to the glasses for a more realistic look.

I added a Full Moon and witch to the back of the lantern for some background.
After all, every werewolf needs a full moon, right?

The great thing about this lantern is that it can use a nice little
battery operated tea light candle to give it a nice soft glow.

I hope that this will inspire you to check out the other fabulous projects
that the other contestants have made for the
I also hope that you will join in the fun with us.

Fly Away With Me!

It's nearly Witching Hour!
And there's a new 13 Days of Halloween Simply Betty Challenge.
So let's get our flight plans ready!! LOL!

I'm sure you could probably guess by now the new challenge at
Simply Betty Stamps is WITCHES!!
And they need to Fly!

I thought for my entry as the Princess of Halloween for this challenge, I would make a Halloween wall hanging.

I made this "Queen of Halloween" crown for my project from
MR Designs Halloween Elements.

I used some fabulous M R Designs digital paper cover the witch's hat.
I added some really pretty ribbon, black crystals, and a spider web that
I received from my Secret Pumpkin Anita.
THANKS again Anita!! These are just fabulous!

I used Simply Betty Stamp Witchy Mrs Boo digital stamp.

I added a cute little pumpkin and witch's shoe, some orange ribbon around the "OUT" sign, a cute little spider, and some pretty black crystals.
I do love my bling!

To make my witch fly... took a little thought.
I took the spring out of an old ink pen and cut it in half with wire cutters.
I put a the sharp end into a foam pop up square
and placed that on the back of the witch.
Next I added a thick glue dot to the witch's hat.
Then I took the other end of the spring and placed it on the glue dot.
And Voila! My witch was flying!!!

Hop on your broom and fly on over to Simply Betty Stamps
for this fabulous witchy challenge.
I'd love to see what you create!

Zombies!

The challenge today is... Zombies!

Ok, I have to admit, I have never done a Zombie project before.
So, this is another one for me.
These 13 Days of Halloween Challenges have really challenged me.
But I have learned all kinds of new techniques, so it's been GREAT!!
That is the biggest reason that I really hope you check out

For this project I wanted to learn something new (again).
So, I decided to make a Zombie themed candle.

For this project, I used the Thrillin' Zombie Betty stamp.

This candle was sooo easy to make!

Candle instructions:
Print out you stamp onto regular copy paper.
Tape Tissue Paper to the top of the digi stamp you just printed out,
And print the stamp out again on the tissue paper.
Color your stamp on the digi paper.
Cut the tissue paper away from the copy paper.
Hold the Tissue Paper to the candle and use a heating tool to adhere the
Tissue Paper to the candle.
The Tissue Paper will disappear.
Be sure not to heat the candle too much in one area for too long,
or it will melt the candle.

Hope you'll join us over at Simply Betty Stamps for another great challenge.

silver Liquid Pearls.

For my tag, I thought a nice sentiment would be nice.

Oh the Embossibilities!

It's time for a new Halloween Challenge
at Simply Betty's 13 Days of Halloween.

Today's challenge is Embossing!
Use any type of embossing in your project.

I decided to keep this one a little more simple.

I used a graveyard embossing folder from Darice.
I backed it with some pretty purple paper, and I used my
bronze colored stamp pad to gently brush over the embossing
to add a little bit of a spooky effect.

I used this great little Franken Babe Betty digi.
And I tried something new that I've never done before.
I made her hair purple, with a streak of black through it.
I've never done any non-typical hair colors before.

Fairy Rose

I wanted to share a new card that I made.
I made this one for a very special young lady.

I found this great sketch from Friday Sketch Challenges that I used.

http://fridaysketchchallenge.blogspot.com/2014/10/sketch-80-by-deborah.html
I went with a Shabby Chic look for this card.

I used this sweet little Fairy Faye image from Tiddly Inks.
I added a photo frame from Tiddly Inks too.

I used some fabulous rose paper from Maja Papers.

I added a pretty cream doily and some pretty pink roses.

I added some liquid pearls around the border of the rose paper.
I also added a very simply sentiment... a Liquid Pearl Heart.  For Love.
I wanted to keep it very simply.

I backed the whole card in some pretty gold glittered cardstock.

I know it's almost Halloween, but the little girl I made this for used to
dress up as a fairy for Halloween, so I thought it would be perfect!
