Peacock Fabulous

Hey this is Faith! This is my second posting on the blog.  I don't have as much time as my mother to post up projects, but I love to do them with her.  We try to keep a little friendly competition going when we scrapbook together. I think that is why I love scrapbooking with her so much.

I created a new page using the sketch design from the 2 Broke Girls blogspot.  Love it! I have started my own cupcake busines so I was instantly drawn to this site.

Well, here is a copy of the sketch off of 2 Broke Girls.
(You have seriously got to check this site out)

I picked an old dance picture to use for this sketch challenge.
This is a picture of me at one of my clogging competitions when I was younger.
My clogging team danced to a song where we all were costumed as different animals.  As you can tell, I got to be the peacock.  My mom made the costume by hand (she says she doesn't sew- HA!).  I know she worked hard on it because she had to put it together thee times.  She used sequins, and feather yarn, and real peacock feathers.  It was my favorite costume.

I used some beautiful glittery peacock paper that I found at Michaels with some blue glitter paper.
I added some crystals I found at Hobby Lobby and the crystal "fabulous".  I also added the actual necklace I wore with the costume.  It has the green sequins and blue feather yarn in it with the metallic silver disc.  Can you tell I like sequins, glitter, and a lot of bling?

I also added one of the peacock feathers from the costume as well.

This page means a lot to me because it isn't just the picture that brings back great memories.

I have entered these into the following challenge:

Flower Girl Beauty

This is my latest page layout.  I found this great new blogsite called 2 Broke Girls; it is wonderful!
I used the sketch from their first challenge to create my layout of my daughter as a flower girl.
Here is the sketch from the 2 Broke Girls blogsite.

This is my take on the sketch challenge.

I used some really pretty silver paper and some nice white embossed paper (it doesn't show up very clear in the picture) and some silver glitter paper. I added some pearls, lace, flower, some pink crystals to match the roses in the flowers, and a heart locket.
I added a clear button to the center of my flower.

I wanted to keep with the silver and white theme, with just a hint of color.
Not that I'm a proud mother, but I think this is a great picture.

I have entered this layout in the following challenges:

THANKS so much to all of these blogspots that offer challenges to keep us all creative.

Style is Eternal

This is Holly and I can't wait to show you my latest card. This is probably my favorite card that I have ever made. I'm thinking of framing it and hanging it in my craft room (that's sad isn't it?). I made this to enter in the following challenges:

I used some really pretty My Mind's Eye (Lost & Found Blush) paper. It comes in a 6x6 pad size with double sided papers, and they are so very pretty.
I stamped a new Stamping Bella stamp (Audrey Loves Her Makeup). This is a great stamp company.
If you haven't seen them before, you should really check them out.
Their Bellas and Uptown Girl stamp are my favorites.
I added some really nice, heavy lace with some small delicat pearls.
Then I used some little cloth flowers that I bought at Hobby Lobby (in their sewing department they sell it by the yard). I took my burgandy stamp pad and dyed the white flowers to match the paper.
I really love the burgandy and pinks, creams, and browns of this card.

Chocolatey Easter Card

Happy Monday Everybody!  This is Barb and I wanted to share my latest card.  I wanted to do an Easter card to send to a friend of mine I haven't seen in a while.  The colors in the card actually look better than the picture shows.

I used DCWV Sweet Stack for this card.  I picked the chocolate paper with swirls, turquoise, and lime green and chocolate.  I liked what the chocolate paper represented (chocolate candy of coarse!) and the lime green and turquoise (2 great Spring colors).
I used a Martha Stewart punch on the Turquoise paper to give it that great look next to the lime green.
I picked the cupcakes too since we usually have such great sweets at Easter.

I used Glossy Accents on the Easer card mixed with glitter. I also added a little bit of glitter in the cupcakes, on the flowers, and on the lime green.
You can never have too much glitter!

Birthday Explosion Box

It's my turn to show off my explosion box today!
I used DCWV paper (The Sweet Stack, and Butterfly's and Blossoms), some pretty glittery flowers, rhinestone brads, and a couple of my favorite DeNami stamps.

DeNami has a lot of great stamps, but I really love my chickie's! And the flowers. And the sentiments. Oh, I love them all!

DeNami is having a birthday celebration this month.

I hope everyone goes by and checks out their website!

I added a little birthday cake in the middle of my explosion box and covered it with paper and pretty gingham ribbon.

On Monday Barb is starting another explosion box and I can't wait to see it!  It will be a little different than any of other projects. I can't wait to show everyone!

I am entering this box in the challenge on the following blogs:

For the Happy Couple

Happy Weekend! This is Barb, and I wanted to share this exposion box that I just made.  I made this for a wedding present and I think it turned out pretty good.

I used the DCWV Linen stack, some fabric flowers, and some some satin ribbon trimmed in pearls.
I also added a pretty silver butterfly charm to the top for a little something extra.
(Truthfully, this picture doesn't do the box justice.)

The great thing about the explosion boxes, is they look so pretty on the outside, and then you open them up, and WOW!

I used some white glitter paper for the dress bodice and white paper for the skirt.  After I cut the skirt out, I ran it through my emobssing machine for some added texture.

I used a Martha Stewart punch for the leaf cutout on the first pocket layer.
I used a scalloped circle punch for the second pocket layer. I only punched out half the circle and then I added a small flower for decoration.

On the third pocket layer, I folded the paper over at a diagonal angle, and then added a beaded flower.

Then I added a note card in each card and put Bible verses, and personal notes on each card.

This was my first explosion box, and now I can't wait to start on the next one!

CELEBRATE YOU (AND LOVE)

This is a scrapbook page that I made for a scrapbook that I am making for a wedding gift for a very sweet couple.  Since it is there engagement pictures, I thought the CELEBRATE YOU was very appropriate.  I used the Minds' Eye Lost & Found papers, die cuts, and embellishments.  They are absolutely fabulous papers! I just got these papers today, and I couldn't wait to get to use them.

Now onto the adjoining page!

I am going to enter it into the Mind's Eye March Challenge.  You might want to check out their great blog.  It has some wonderful ideas!

Cute Tag Card

This is the newest of my creations.  I wanted to make a card, but I wanted it to be just a little different.  So, I decided to make a tag shaped card.  I wanted some glitter and sparkle, so I used DCWV Chateau Lavendar paper that had some sparkle to it, added some green sparkle ribbon to the bow, and some tiny rhinestones for raindrops.  I thought the rhinestones made a nice touch.  I love ribbon and rhinestones, so this was a lot of fun to create!

I entered this in the following challenges:

cupcakeinspirations.blogspot.com                      Cupcake Inspiration 200th Challenge (Congrats!)

This is the cupcake that inspired my card tag card with the ladybug and the pink flower.  I am so looking forward to spring that I wanted to go ahead and get a jumpstart on it.  I thought this cupcake was appropriate for the Cupcake Inspirations challenge since it was their 200th challenge and this ladbug cupcake was their 1st challenge.  This has become one of my favorite websites!   THANKS for the great inspirations!

Queenly Card

Good Afternoon everyone!  This is Holly and this is my card creation for the March challenges I would like to enter.  I used DCWV Chateau Lavender (this is currently my favorite DCWV paper stack), and a Sweet November stamp (allthatscraps.com) that I had received for Christmas.  This was my first time using this stamp, and I absolutely love her!  I stamped the image on white paper and then again on a gold paper, and a green paper from the Chateau Lavender stack.  I cut out the crown and bow from gold paper, and the dress was cut out from the green pattered paper. I really like paper piecing.  I added a few bluebirds for a sweet touch.  This card has lots of Sparkle!  And what girl doesn't love sparkle?

I got the inspiration for this card from CupcakeInspirations.blogspot.com.  They are holding their 200th Challenge this month.  This cupcake is from Challenge 50.  Perfect for March!cupcakeinspirations.blogspot.com

I also went to the cardmakinmamas.blogspot.co.uk where they have their challenge for the month as being anything with GREEN.  A lot of green preferably.  I thought both of these challenges paired up perfectly together and with the Sweet November stamp.

I also entered this into the AllSorts Challenge whose theme this week is "For A Lady."  Nothing like sitting peacefully in a clover field watching the bluebirds in a sunny sky as the perfect day for a lady (or anyone else for that matter).

I entered this into the Cupcake Craft Challenge as well.  Their theme this week is Sparkle.  I think this card definately has a lot of sparkle. One of my favorite things!

I am entering this into the challenges on the following sites:

This is the card made by Barb (the 3rd DB Craft Girl).  She entered this into the DCWV Card Challenge and made the Top Ten! We are so proud of her!  She used the Sweet Stack by DCWV for her card and then added a nice flower embellishment in the middle.

Check out this wonderful blog!  Brenda has some terrific ideas and does some excellent work!
She is also being very generous and offering up some of these great stamps in a drawing.

She is having her 4th bloggaversary, and has a great challenge going on with that too.  Please go by and see what all she has going on.  Happy Bloggaversay Brenda!

Good Monday Morning from Holly!  I wanted to do a little sharing this morning and post the card that I entered into the DCWV February Card Challenge.  I used the Chateau Lavender Stack and a stencil to write the sentiment with. I truly recommend the DCWVinc.blogspot.com for some great inspiration.  These ladies are very talented.  And what great paper!
