Chrome Birthday Wishes

Good Evening Crafters!

Today I want to share a birthday card I made for a VERY SPECIAL Birthday.
I needed to create a manly birthday card this week, so I was excited to do something a little different.  This is the first card I have made in a long while that I did not use glitter on.

I created the chrome diamond plate with white cardstock and 3 different colors of gray and metallic silver inks.  I colored the cardstock by stamping a light gray all over the paper.  Next I added the Metallic silver ink all over the light gray, a little more randomly.  Lastly I added the dark gray around the edges.

After I got the shading just right, I ran it through the embossing machine
with the diamond plate embossing folder.

I used copic markers to color the truck.  I wanted it have some variances in the color (just like the real truck I was trying to copy).

I added a few wrench cutouts because the man I am making this
card for LOVES to mechanic.

I also hand lettered the license plate with HB 2U (Happy Birthday To You).

I also pop dotted the blue banner and the truck.

Glittery Birthday Card

I don't usually post this fast, but I had 2 cards I wanted to share this week.

We had a really good friend that has a birthday next week, so we had to make something very special. She is glittery kind of girl too, which is right up my alley!
I used something I had never used before, a digi stamp.
But I found this great one that I just had to have!

On this card I used some brown satin ribbon, some pretty white lace, sky blue and white gingham paper, and some kraft paper for background behind the gingham (a little hard to see in the picture).
I added some fabric flowers (one of my favorite things).  And glitter (of course).

I colored the background around the girl with a Copic Marker Silk color.

I really love this digi stamp!

I would like to enter this into the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge this week.

Elegant Wedding Card

Hey everybody!  Hope you're having a fantastic week so far.

I have this wedding card that I am really excited to share with you.  We have a very special friend that is getting married this year, and I wanted to make something special for her.  Something simple, but elegant.  I hope I pulled that off.  Let me know what you think.

I used a lovely brown paper My Mind's Eye (Lost & Found Blush stack).
I added some beautiful Burgundy Satin Ribbon and a white fabric rose.
I used some music note tape that I found at Michael's.
And Glitter.  Lots of Glitter.  Of course.
I used a Stamping Bella Uptown Girls Stamp called Brigitte.

I took a white piece of cardstock, cut it like a tag, and some sky blue ink.  I applied the ink carefully to the tag to completely cover it.  You have to be careful not to put too much pressure on the ink pad or you will leave lines in the coloring.  It adds a nice soft look for the background.

I used a glue pen to color in the wedding dress and then added the white glitter.  I added a little bit of glitter to the bouquet, and some silver glitter for the headpiece.

I would like to enter this into the Sweet Stop Challenge this week.
I think they have some awesome sketches!

SMILING BIG!

I created this page layout for the Scrap Our Stash Blogsite.
They have a really cool website that I have recently discovered.
I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
Their latest challenge is dots and stripes.  I love polka dots and stripes.

I chose to scrap my daughter's clogging picture.

I used the Paper Studio Black & White paper stack that I've had for some time now and some pretty red striped paper I found at Michaels a few years ago, but never used.  For the journaling banner, I used some silver metallic paper I found on clearance sale at Michaels and some DCWV silver glitter paper.
With a clogger in the family, I can never have too much glitter or metallic paper.

I love the fact that the name of this challenge website is Scrap Our Stash.
I really need to do that more often.  We probably all need to do that.

SMILE

Happy Wednesday!! I can't believe how fast this week is going.  We have been so busy at work I needed a little stress release, so I decided I needed a little crafting.

My friend Barb posted up her latest card creation (see the post below) and it
inspired me to do something fun and Springy.
Barb is my co-worker and my best friend for the last 23 years,  and she is the person
who got me into scrapbooking.
I guess I definitely owe her big time for that!

I got my layout idea from The Sweet Stop sketch blog.
This is a great website for really neat sketches.

SSS205

I used My Minds Eye Paper (Lost & Found Blush) paper.

I punched my largest circle with a scalloped punch and then used 2 smaller punches for the other cutouts.  Next I took some beautiful black glitter ribbon and put it under some really nice lace.
Then I made a bow out of the black ribbon and attached it to the top of the lace.

I added some fabric roses, some cute punched butterflies, and a few rhinestones.
I always think of Spring with butterflies and flowers.
And with this warmer weather I am definitely in the mood!

I used Copic Markers to color my Stamping Bella stamp.
And of course I added some green and white glitter to it.

I found this great tutorial for easy bow making over at the DCWV blogspot and

I highly recommend you checking out these two websites.
They are both full of some great ideas and inspiration.
Erin over at DCWV BlogSpot has some fun tutorials too.

Sunshine Flower Birthday Card

Happy Tuesday everybody! I wanted to share a very springy birthday card that I created this week.  Since the weather has recently turned warmer (at least for a short time), I wanted to make something cheerful.

I used DCWV Sweet Blossoms paper stack.
I used a Martha Stewart punch on the edge of the Sentiment and added a
pretty little piece of ribbon with some pearls on it.

I found this great tutorial on Pinterest on how to make these cut tissue flowers.
All you have to do is use your scalloped punch and punch about 10 scalloped circles.
Next make a small hole in the middle of the flower, then add a pretty brad to hold it all together.
Last, just fluff a little and maybe add a few wrinkles for a more realistic effect.
Sooo easy, but sooo cute!
You can even add another color of tissue paper and maybe use a smaller scalloped circle to add some color and a little more dimension.
I just love these!
So many ideas for their use that I can't wait to try.

Best Friends

This is a page I made to go with a previous page I made to go in a scrapbook for a very special young couple.  These are two of the sweetest, hard working, loving kids I know, and I am very proud to say they are in my family.  I wanted to do something special for them, so I  thought I would scrapbook their engagement and wedding pictures.

I used My Minds Eye - Lost & Found papers.
I got the sketch for this page on My Mind's Eye Blog: Challenges.
I love all the paper that Mind's Eye has.
And this sketch has such great layers.

I used some pop dots to pop up some of the tags to add an extra dimension to this page.

Smash Book Bling

This is Faith again.  After making something special for my mother, I then decided to make something pretty for myself.  I admit I absolutely love the Smash Books.  These are fabulous for journals where you can add. . . well, anything!  I have just started a new one, and as I may have mentioned in my earlier blogs, since I love bling, I had to add a lot of it.

I covered my Smash Book with some DCWV paper Stack.
I added some Zebra tape that I found at Michaels, a pretty flower, and LOTS of crystals.
There is a crystal at every line intersection at the bottom and top of the book. Yes, I did have to go and by more because I ran out. :)

But the Greatest of these is LOVE

This is Faith and I hope everyone had a Happy April Fools Day!
I have had a great April Fools Day today. I have been creating!

I have come up with this Springy card to give to my mother.  I used some of her favorite colors, stamps, flowers, and lace. Then I added my favorite. . . LOTS of crystals! I love Bling!!

I used some really pretty yellow paper with little white flowers. Then I added some pretty pink paper from Carta Bella, a little lace, and some, OK a lot of  crystals to the center of all the little white flowers.  Some fabric roses and one of our favorite Bible verses.  I also used one of my mother's favorite Sweet November stamps.  I stamped it on DCWV fabric paper to add some texture to it, and then added some glitter to the wings (did I mention I liked bling?).
